SEO rants from an old friend

Tbh most seo is very competitive field, and there are many, many people in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Phillipines who are doing freelancing in it, and it's a bit of a commoditized business in the sense a lot of people are willing to do it for a lot less than you.

Tbh SEO is a way to get traffic to your site. If you really are good at it - you really shouldn't be depending on clients because there are a lot of affiliate marketplaces out there and they offer good commission for every product that gets sold through your link. That is more lucrative in the long term, kindof like having your own business.

The thing you always gotta keep in mind is there is no such thing as a free lunch.
When you start expecting something for nothing - this is when you'll get conned.

There are tons of content online and hundreds of how to books.. Forums like these are more to get a opinions and context on things, and other views by other people on the same thing that you might not get in a book.

But in general, if you're a student of marketing you'll study the books available on marketing, sales, negotiation, psychology, economics, copywriting etc.

If you get stuck in the code, there's also tons of youtube tutorials on pretty much Everything and sites like stack overflow and stuff where people will help you with their code for free..
It really is, if the student is ready, the teacher will appear.
