How it works What the Split Text into Sentences tool does

Breaks pasted paragraphs into one sentence per line, or one word per line — for auditing copy, building a vocabulary or feeding text into the other operations.

Breaks paragraphs into one sentence per line, or one word per line. A sentence ends at a full stop, question mark or exclamation mark followed by a space and a capital letter, number or opening quote, so decimals such as 2.5 and lowercase abbreviations such as “e.g. this” stay intact. Blank lines always start a new sentence.

One sentence per line makes long copy easy to check, count or compare, and one word per line feeds straight into frequency and deduplication operations.
