How it works What the Negative Keyword Filter does

Removes every line that contains any word or phrase from a list — a whole negative-keyword or brand list in one go.

Put a list of unwanted words or phrases in the second box, one per line, and every line containing any of them is removed in one pass. It is the multi-word version of Remove Lines Containing, and the fastest way to apply a negative keyword list to a keyword export.

With “whole words only” on, “free” removes “free shoe laces” but keeps “freestyle shoes”. Turn it off to match inside words too. Matching ignores capitals unless you untick the option.

3 steps How to use the Negative Keyword Filter

  1. Paste your list into the box above — one item per line, and the second list into its own box. Keyword exports, crawl exports and spreadsheet columns all work.
  2. Check the settings and adjust them to your job — the result updates as you type.
  3. Copy the result and paste it wherever it needs to go. Nothing is uploaded, so client and confidential data stay on your machine.

Use it to When to use the Negative Keyword Filter
